Discover The Park
Hidden within the rugged hills of Central India, Satpura National Park is one of the country’s best-kept wildlife secrets. Unlike many tiger reserves that revolve solely around jeep safaris for tiger safari tours, Satpura invites you to experience the wilderness in many different ways. From jeep safaris, boat safaris along the Denwa River and guided walking safaris to canoeing and birdwatching, every journey here feels more intimate, peaceful and immersive.

What Makes It Special
India's Premier Walking Safari Experience
This is one of the few national parks in India where visitors can enjoy guided walking safari experiences. Accompanied by trained naturalists and forest guides, these walks offer an entirely different perspective of the jungle, allowing you to observe tracks, birds, insects, trees and smaller wildlife up close.
Unique Boat Safaris on the Denwa River
The tranquil Denwa River adds a completely different dimension to exploring the National Park. A Satpura National Park boat safari offers opportunities to spot crocodiles, migratory birds, otters and wildlife visiting the riverbanks, making it one of the park's most distinctive attractions.
Incredible Wildlife Diversity
While Tiger sighting attracts many visitors, Satpura is equally renowned for its healthy population of Leopard, Sloth bear, Indian bison (Gaur) and over 300 bird species. Every safari promises a rich diversity of wildlife beyond just tigers.
Untouched Wilderness with Fewer Crowds
Unlike some of India's busier tiger reserves, this park remains peaceful and less commercialised. Fewer vehicles inside the forest create a quieter, more intimate safari experience where you can truly appreciate the sounds and beauty of the wilderness.
Diverse Landscapes
From rugged sandstone hills and deep valleys to dense sal forests, teak woodlands, rivers and grasslands, this central India park showcases one of the most varied landscapes among India's tiger reserves. Every safari reveals a different side of this beautiful ecosystem.
Combine with Pachmarhi & Central India
Many travellers combine Satpura with Pachmarhi and nearby wildlife destinations like Pench, Kanha and Tadoba for a longer Central India wildlife holiday. The nearby hill station of Pachmarhi makes an excellent addition for those looking to experience wildlife, culture and heritage tours in Central India.
Explore Every Zone
Every safari in Satpura begins from carefully managed tourism zones that offer access to the park’s diverse forests, rivers and grasslands. Satpura has five main zones with three core zones and 2 buffer zones.
Unlike many tiger reserves, Satpura focuses on providing a quieter, low-impact wildlife experience rather than concentrating vehicles in a few areas. Our team helps you choose the most suitable safari based on your interests, travel dates and wildlife opportunities.
Madhai Tourism Zone
The most popular gateway to the Park, Madhai offers access to jeep safaris, walking safaris and boat safaris. Its mix of forests, grasslands and river habitats makes it one of the best areas for wildlife viewing.
Churna Zone
Known for its remote wilderness and excellent biodiversity, Churna is ideal for travellers seeking a more exclusive safari experience. The area is famous for its dense forests, rugged landscapes and overnight forest stays.
Panchmarhi Zone
The Pachmarhi Zone, also known as the Panaarpani Zone, is Satpura's newest tourism zone, located close to the popular hill station of Pachmarhi. Visitors can access the park through Panarpani Gate, approximately 18 km from Pachmarhi.
Buffer Areas
The two buffer zones surrounding the park (Parsapani or Pathai Zone and Jamani Devi or Sehra Zone) provide additional opportunities for wildlife viewing, birdwatching and nature-based activities while helping reduce tourism pressure on the core area.
Whether you’re planning your first Satpura Safari, a dedicated birdwatching expedition or a relaxed nature holiday, Jungle Revives offers customized experiences designed around your interests. Safari Options Explained
Unlike most tiger reserves, Satpura offers multiple ways to experience the wilderness. From classic jeep safaris and peaceful boat rides on the Denwa River to guided walking safaris, every activity reveals a different side of the forest.

The remarkable diversity of habitats make Satpura one of the richest wildlife destinations. While tiger sightings are always a possibility, the park is equally celebrated for its thriving leopard population, sloth bears, Indian Gaur, crocodiles and an incredible variety of resident and migratory birds.
