    About Tadoba
    National Park

Declared as a National Park in 1955, the park later joined with the Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary to form the larger Tadoba Tiger Reserve, one of Maharashtra’s most important protected areas. Together, they safeguard over 1,700 sq. km of forests that support a healthy population of Bengal Tigers along with Leopards, Sloth Bears, Indian Wild Dogs, Gaur and hundreds of bird species. The lifeline of the reserve is the Tadoba Lake and the Andhari River, which attract wildlife throughout the year, particularly during the dry summer months.

    What Makes It Special

    Why Visit Tadoba National Park

Maharashtra's Oldest & Largest Tiger Reserve

Tadoba was declared a national park in 1955. It was later merged with the Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary to form the Tadoba Tiger Reserve. Today, it protects over 1,700 sq. km of forests, lakes and grasslands, making it Maharashtra's oldest and largest tiger reserve.

    Rich Wildlife Beyond Tigers

While tigers steal the spotlight, Tadoba is equally famous for Leopards, Sloth Bears, Indian Wild Dogs (Dholes), Indian Gaur, Marsh Crocodiles and more than 280 bird species, ensuring every Tadoba wildlife safari is filled with incredible wildlife encounters.

    Lakes, Bamboo & Teak Forests

From dense bamboo thickets and towering teak forests to the scenic Tadoba Lake and Andhari River, the park's varied landscapes create one of Central India's most picturesque safari destinations.

    Less Crowded, More Wilderness

Compared to several popular tiger reserves, Tadoba National Park offers a quieter and more immersive safari experience. With multiple tourism gates and extensive buffer forests, visitors often enjoy rewarding wildlife sightings with fewer vehicles around.
