Our journey with Jungle Revives took us from Jim Corbett to Dudhwa, and we came away with wonderful memories of both forests and the people who helped us experience them.
We began in Jim Corbett, exploring the Dhikala and Dhela zones. Staying in a forest rest house was a very different experience from a regular hotel stay. Being within the forest, surrounded by its sounds and atmosphere, made us feel much closer to the wilderness. It was one of the most memorable parts of our trip.
The naturalists added so much to our safari drives. Their patience, close observation and knowledge helped us notice things we would easily have missed on our own. They took time to explain what we were seeing, answer our questions and help us understand the forest beyond the animals we had come hoping to spot.
We were particularly fortunate to have Shishir himself accompany us. He was easy to talk to, and his knowledge and enthusiasm made our time together especially enjoyable. He shared stories from his own safari journeys that gave us a deeper appreciation of the places we were visiting. Our conversations felt relaxed and personal, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and learn.
Those conversations continued after the safaris, too. Shishir sat down with us to discuss the sightings, look through our photographs and revisit moments from the drives. We really appreciated that time together, it helped us reflect on what we had observed and made the experience feel much more complete.
We then travelled to Dudhwa, which brought a different atmosphere and another rewarding opportunity to explore India’s wildlife. Experiencing both destinations in one journey gave us a real appreciation of how different each forest can be.
What stayed with us most was the personal attention throughout the trip. We felt comfortable, well looked after and in the company of people who loved sharing their knowledge. Thank you to Shishir and the Jungle Revives team for a thoughtful and memorable journey.
