This blog describes my Journey of Using Basic to advanced binoculars for wildlife, nature and tiger safari in India, and how it has helped me level up my adventure trip experience in the last couple of years. I started my journey exploring Indian wildlife, natural landscapes, jungles, and national parks more than a decade ago when I was an amateur wildlife enthusiast. I had the passion to see all I could when it came to wild animals like tigers, lions, peacocks, and many other exotic creatures that many dream of seeing in front of them.
Throughout this journey, one piece of gear equipment that has amplified my experience significantly is my set of wildlife binoculars which has seen a big evolution from my first year of exploration to till date. I had no idea that a simple piece of glass would lift my wildlife exploration experience so much that it would give a new meaning to my story. The story of capturing the constantly changing jungles and wildlife of India through my unique perspective. Like many wildlife enthusiasts, I started with basic binoculars and later upgraded to premium-quality products over time.

Early Tiger Safari Journeys with Basic Binoculars
When I started my Wildlife Journey back in the day to spot the bengal tigers of India, I didn’t have that much funds to buy an expensive set of binoculars. So just like any other regular guy looking to work his way up in his career, I acted frugally and saved my major chunk of income by buying a local-based basic binocular for wildlife spotting.
It didn’t have any popular brand name or some crazy specifications. Just enough to get the job done. Although my first pair of binoculars for wildlife viewing wasn’t that advanced, it transformed the way I look at wild animals and birds. Using those binoculars, I could capture the rawness of Indian Jungles and their Wild Animals in their purest form.
I still remember vividly that my first major wildlife moment was when I Visited Jim Corbett National Park in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand for the first wildlife safari ever and did my first elephant, deer, and tiger sighting. Despite being my initial binoculars of lower configurations and clarity, it was still amazing to experience the wild nature up close simply because of them.

Excitement of Wildlife Spotting with Basic Binoculars
The thrill and excitement that I felt at that time was something different that can never be described in words. My first binoculars for bird watching and animal spotting weren’t just a piece of gear for me – they were my stepping stone to mastering the art of capturing the best natural wildlife views. They were the tools that taught me the fundamentals of wildlife sightings in general. I learned many things about how to hold them and all about hand firmness.
I also learned about how you can use them to locate any wild animal faster and more efficiently. They helped me improve my wildlife photography and videography quality because I would always use them to find the wild animals at unique spots just like a professional wildlife enthusiast would do.
I learned a lot about animal behaviour by observing their body language. Using my first binoculars taught me a lot about patience and how you should continue to persist in your pursuit of spotting your favourite wild animals. I also learned that you can be near the wildlife and nature and not disturb them altogether by using a good piece of binoculars for safari sightings to get the most amazing views.
Upgrading to Canon Binoculars and Levelling Up
It was only after a couple of years when I became settled in life and was earning well, that I decided to finally switch to branded gear when it came to binoculars for wildlife exploration. By that time, my passion for wildlife and nature also developed and so did my understanding of how to better use this equipment. I decided to go with the Canon brand.
That’s because it was something within my range and also because of the reliability the brand offered.
Once I switched to the Canon Binoculars, I would see a stark difference in the quality of my wildlife spotting experience – high-quality images, better lighting capabilities even in low light conditions, and robust build quality which could easily sustain any harsh wildlife conditions. Also, Canon has some of the best binoculars for long distance wildlife spotting.

Why Upgrade to Canon Binoculars for Wildlife Spotting?
It completely changed my wildlife-capturing experience. I was able to see finer details of birds and animals in the wild which wasn’t possible earlier. I could also look more closely at these wild animals and birds. And notice any slight change in their behavioural patterns. The optical quality of my new Canon binoculars for wildlife exploration was highly superior to my earlier local ones. The biggest benefit was that it didn’t put any strain on my eyes. I could easily go for longer wildlife spotting sessions, and it would still not hurt my eyes.
But keeping all these aside, upgrading to Canon-based Binoculars for Wildlife Exploration from local ones led me to my biggest transition. I have seamlessly transitioned from an amateur wildlife enthusiast and spotter to a professional one. It has helped me better understand the intricacies of Indian wildlife and nature.
