This incident dates back to September 2024 when a Tiger Killed Cow in Ramnagar Uttarakhand. This incident took place near the Kosi Barrage Nagar Van area. The tiger came from the Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve area and caused panic among residents. As a result, the administration had to stop the traffic on the Ramnagar-Haldwani State Highway. They even banned evening walks in the region. They did this to send the tiger back to the safe areas of the forest corridor. This incident created panic because the tiger was seen near the city forest. After killing the cow he was sitting near to it. Such incidents of tiger attacks have become common in Uttarakhand. This recent one near the Kosi range of Ramnagar forest division is another fearful one that created widespread panic.
When local passers-by in their car received information that a tiger had been sighted in this region, they started parking their cars in large numbers alongside the road in the hope of seeing the tiger. But seeing a huge crowd gathered, the forest department had to close the highway. Immediately they removed people from there to avoid the tiger getting aggressive due to the crowd and vehicle noises. The forest workers and the local police teamed up under the leadership of the Kosi Range Officer. They put up barricades from the Kosi Barrage to the turn of the new bridge to completely stop vehicle movement. Forest department officers were deployed near the region for enhanced security and safety of the region and to avoid any unauthorized movement.
