Jungle Revives Web Platform: Journey from Concept to Reality

This blog takes you on the journey of how I built the Jungle Revives Web Platform – bringing the idea from concept to reality. It all started one fine day when I sat down over a cup of coffee in the winter mornings of December 2023 and revisited my journal that I had made covering all my previous trips to various Indian Wildlife National Parks and Sanctuaries. It was a trip down memory lane and those pictures of safaris and wildlife explorations brought a gentle smile to my face. I was happy, seeing that I had spent significant time in nature and with its gems – wild animals. From the lush green Jungles to the magnanimous mountains, the green grasslands to the hilly and rocky landscapes – the emotions from all these trips came rushing back and made me overwhelmed.

Nostalgia From the Previous Wildlife Trips

As the thoughts passed by in my mind, I was still nostalgic about those trips and vividly remembered each moment from these amazing journeys. To me, Indian wildlife and its amazing natural beauty have always been special because it’s constantly changing and evolving. Every time you go there, you get to experience something completely new – be it the weather, the atmosphere, the ambiance, the smell, and the scenery.

From Idea to Inception: Building the Jungle Revives Web Platform

Suddenly, it occurred to me that I should build something meaningful and impactful in this space of nature and wildlife. Being a techie and entrepreneur by profession, the innovator in me kicked in and I started googling about what platforms exist in the wildlife and nature space in India. I researched across India and abroad about what exists in this space, and to my surprise, I found that there is no limitation on what you can build. From photography courses to e-commerce platforms to blogs and websites for personal brands – I found so many insights I was opened to a new dimension which gave me new ideas every second.

However, what I observed was that in the Indian demographic, there was a lack of an online platform that brought everyone together to form a community that comprises wildlife and nature enthusiasts who are truly passionate about this domain. That’s when the idea struck me – why shouldn’t I create an Online platform for Indian Wildlife and nature enthusiasts who can come together for a better cause? Spread awareness amongst the Indian audience regarding why it’s the need of the hour to conserve our wild animals and the nature in which they reside by capturing their existence in its raw form.

Hence, Jungle Revives was founded and we started by building our web platform.

Building Phase 1 of Jungle Revives Web Platform

The process of building the Jungle Revives Website began by first performing thorough brainstorming and analysis on what to include in the website. We did extensive research on websites and web platforms in our domain which shared any type of similarity with what we wanted to do.

This task continued for a couple of days after which we compiled our preferred list of platforms and found one thing common in them – they all had the blog section where they were posting consistently on various topics and categories related to their brands’ vision and agenda.

This convinced us to go the same route and start with the blog section first where we could publish articles and stories about various aspects of Indian wildlife and nature.

Step 1 – Theme Selection

We started the process by first identifying a relevant theme for the Jungle Revives web platform which resonates with our preferences. We wanted a casual-looking theme with nothing too formal since our website will appeal to the masses and anyone who is a wildlife enthusiast.

After searching for numerous hours on platforms like WordPress and Envato, we found more than 50 templates that we liked. To streamline the theme selection process, we filtered out the top 10 of them based on the appearance and look of the UI/UX. Then we further filtered out the themes to the top 3 based on the sections we might need and the overall composition of the theme based on colors, typography, animations, and graphics.

Out of the Top three selections, we finally implemented the one that you can currently see on our website as it perfectly fits our requirements after a comprehensive assessment and analysis of the features, sections, and functionalities that we would implement down the line.

Step 2 – Defining the Technical Documentation & Refining the UI/UX

Once we finalized the theme, we started the process of creating the technical documentation. Both for the blog and a couple of essential pages for the website for phase 1 launch. These overall included the –

  • Blog Section (Main Blog Page + Individual Pages),
  • Home Page, and
  • Pages that send the incoming user to our Instagram and YouTube Profiles.

Side by side we also worked on refining the UI/UX based on our preferences wherever we saw it was necessary to do.

As of today, we have our blog section fully implemented. The remaining pages are being worked upon by the team, which will be launched soon.

To fully implement the blog on the Jungle Revives Web Platform, we did this.

  • We first decided on the Structure of the main blog index page and each blog page template.

The main page consists of a banner at the top followed by a card view of all the blogs we have published on our website till the present day. The individual card has a banner image, blog title, and a brief starting content. The banner also shows the category to which the blog belongs. Upon clicking the card, the user is redirected to the respective blog content.

When we come to the individual blog page, it starts with a banner image in the background.

It has the Blog Title and the date of publishing. Then the entire content follows, which consists of text content, video embed screens, and images wherever applicable.

Individual Blog Page Layout

Each of the Individual blog pages has a right section which consists of multiple things like –

  • Section highlighting our YouTube channel,
  • Signup section, categories, an archive section, and the latest blog section.
  • We also implemented a partnership/collaboration section. Through this, users can submit their details and get in touch with us. They can discuss their ideas about wildlife and nature that we can collaborate upon.Options on the right side menu section over blog pages

While working on refining the UI/UX of the blog section, these were the aspects we worked on. Once completed, we started publishing regular blogs full-fledged across categories.

Step 3 – Performance and Responsiveness Optimization

Furthermore, we optimized the design and content of the blog section of our website. We did this from a responsiveness and performance point of view. This allows uniform viewing experience across all devices including desktops, laptops, mobiles, tablets, etc. Both in terms of appearance and functionality.

Last but not least, we connected the entire website through interlinking. This allows anyone coming to any page of our website can navigate to desired section without hassle. Also, they can get a complete experience of Jungle Revives web platform. Currently, this is being achieved through the header and footer sections of our website.

Through this step-by-step process, we completed phase 1 of our website development. We made every page fully user-intuitive, appealing, and easy to navigate.

We also implemented SEO optimizations on the blog pages. This was done to ensure that we start ranking on Google for the search queries related to wildlife and nature. This enables us to reach out to more wildlife enthusiasts organically and helps us grow the community.

Currently, our website is still in the development phase. We are exploring things to further add to our platform to bring out the best we can. It’s the first version and once we publish further updates to the website, we will keep you posted.
