They always fascinated me and were kind of my stress-busters. Also, I have petted numerous exotic birds at my home. Plus, I am a proud pet parent to my German Shepherd WHISKY. All these turns of events made me realize just one thing – I should be closer to nature and wildlife. This prompted me to become a wildlife explorer and fueled my passion for exploring the gems of nature. Over time, alongside my enthusiasm for wildlife, my expertise in capturing exciting videos through professional gear has also evolved. From Basic Smartphone to Professional Go-Pro for Wildlife Exploration
Let me tell you how has my journey been from –
Working with a smartphone to a Go-Pro for capturing the beauty of nature and wildlife across India.
I remember the day I started my Wildlife Journey into the Jungles of Indian National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries. It all started with my basic twelve thousand rupees smartphone back in the day. I was an amateur wildlife enthusiast who was low on cash. But, I wanted to capture the rawness of the constantly changing jungles of India and its wildlife.
Nonetheless, I was filled with joy and excitement. That’s because I was more in the zone of capturing the natural beauty rather than focusing on the device. Although the camera quality wasn’t that great, those initial years were pivotal. I grasped the key concepts of making great wildlife videos by understanding animal behaviour in detail.
I worked with my limitations but always found creative ways to capture nature’s best moments. That too even with a basic piece of technology. I wanted professional equipment like a Go-pro for capturing my wildlife experiences but it was a long way to go.
Transitioning to an iPhone 9 for Leveling Up My Wildlife Videography
I made lots of memories in the first few years of my wildlife journey until I transitioned to an iPhone 9 which gave me a better camera quality to capture videos in HD. Although still not comparable to a Go-Pro for Capturing wildlife memories given its quality and experience. It was an upgrade from my previous basic smartphone and the years that came ahead allowed me to capture better-quality video clips.
The moment I transitioned to the iPhone, it opened a lot of possibilities for me in terms of recording more engaging and comprehensive wildlife videos. My storytelling skills also improved as I was able to realize that upgrading the wildlife videography gear is a gateway to telling better stories by showing the actual rawness of the jungles and the wildlife creatures that live inside them, that too in better quality and resolution. Still had a long way to go to switch to professional gear like Go-pro for capturing wildlife memories.
I learned more sophisticated filmmaking techniques, mastered the art of making videos in all kinds of low and high lighting, and worked on improving footage stabilization through personalized techniques. It was during this period in my life as a wildlife enthusiast that I transitioned from an amateur wildlife videographer to building better-quality videos.
Finally Started Using Go-Pro for Capturing Wildlife across India
It was not until the last couple of years when I decided to go pro-level in terms of my wildlife exploration journeys. That’s when I decided to switch to premium quality videography gear and that led me to buy my first Go-Pro which was the Go Pro Hero 10.

Buying this device enabled me to capture my Indian Wildlife Safari experiences in a much better resolution which in return enabled me to make better HD quality videos where I was able to put extreme attention to detail in capturing the wild animals and birds.
For the next few years, I continued using the Go-Pro Hero 10 and worked on improving my wildlife videography skills. Until recently, when I switched to the Latest Go-Pro Hero 13. It allows me to capture high-definition 4K videos and is currently my preferred choice of camera device for all my wildlife safaris and trips.
It’s highly durable, not prone to weather damage, delivers me 4K HD video footage, ensures image stabilization, and enables me to focus on the finer details of wild nature. This facilitates me to create engaging wildlife videos that help me connect with my audience.
Key Learnings: Journey from Smartphone to Go-Pro for Wildlife Sighting
While transitioning from an amateur wildlife enthusiast to a pro-level one, I learned the most valuable lesson that video gear doesn’t matter as much as the zeal to learn, and passion for wildlife and nature matters. One needs to have an eye for capturing the best wildlife moments by being patient and persistent. You have to be eager to learn the art and science of capturing the best wildlife footage so that you make exciting videos that will resonate with your audience and enable you to become an experienced wildlife videographer.
So, get started, focus on learning the fundamentals, and don’t worry much about the Videography gear.
